Rules and safety
These apply to every holiday trail. A spot is any decorated place on a trail: a house, park, business or neighborhood.
Visiting
- Stay on public sidewalks.
- Skip any place that isn't welcoming visitors, however it is decorated.
- Drive slowly and watch for kids and people walking.
- Keep young children with an adult.
Adding a spot
- Only add a home if the owner is okay with it, or it is yours. Parks, businesses and neighborhoods are fine too.
- Keep blurbs friendly. No photos of people or children.
- Only a street address and your trail name are shown. We never show real names or emails.
Adding an event
- Only add an event that is open to neighbors, with the right place and times.
- If the plan changes, edit the times or ask a trail keeper to take it down.
- An event leaves the trail on its own when it ends.
Be kind
- No bullying, harassment or hate. No sexual or openly offensive language.
- That goes for spot names, descriptions, comments, photos and your own trail name.
- Don't use anyone else's name, or a name meant to mislead.
- We can remove anything, change a name, or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Tap Report on a spot or comment if you see something.
Want a spot removed?
Open the spot and tap Report, then choose “I live here and want this pin removed.” The pin hides right away and a trail keeper reviews it within 24 hours. You can also email hello@hollandlane.co.
